How do I compare Popular Investors?

eToro provides several tools to compare Popular Investors and other users. The most important of these are the past results published on monthly charts and the level of risk associated with their strategy. The user's statistics also show how often he trades, how long he keeps positions in the portfolio. You have to remember that past results do not guarantee future returns, and investors with the most copiers are not always the best.

You can make your own people watchlist and then compare them on one screen like the one below. Unfortunately there is no way to display all 3 periods at a time (1M, 3M, 6M) but you can also compare the risk levels and amount of copiers. This table is updated on "My approach" page on monthly basis.

Pay attention to the user advancement levels marked with colored stars (see eToro FAQ for details), see how many positions in the portfolio the investor has (choose less than 50). Analyze also on which markets the person invests, because copying a portfolio containing positions from, say 4 markets means converting your capital into 4 currencies, and this means additional exchange rate risk.
